Middag van het Fantastische Boek – 24 februari 2024 in Utrecht

Hebban organiseert samen met Bibliotheek Utrecht en de Stichting Fantastisch Genre op 24 februari 2024 de Middag van het Fantastische Boek. Er is een gevarieerd programma, met twee workshops, een fantasymarkt en een openbare discussie over AI en kunst. Het hoogtepunt van de Middag is de uitreiking van de Harland Prijs 2023.

Begin de middag goed met een boekenmarkt in de grote hal van Bibliotheek Utrecht aan de Neude, die voor iedereen toegankelijk is. Als deelnemer van de Middag van het Fantastische Boek kun je je daarna inschrijven voor een van de twee workshops, gegeven door Nederlandse fantasyauteurs Tais Teng en Edith Eri Louw. Of sluit je aan bij de openbare discussie tussen schrijvers, wetenschappers én publiek over kunst en AI. Van drie uur tot half vijf wordt in de Theaterzaal tijdens een spectaculair programma met film, panel en een optreden de Harland Prijs 2023 uitgereikt.

Speculatief: magazine voor vertaalde fictie

Op 1 mei 2022 brengt Goran Lowie de eerste uitgave uit van Speculatief Magazine, een gratis online magazine van speculatieve fictie in vertaling. Dit zijn Hugo, Nebula, Locus etc. genomineerde of bekroonde werken die eindelijk een vertaling zien in het Nederlands. Allemaal gratis te lezen via zijn website of te beluisteren via Spotify.

Harland Awards 2021

Na ruim drie maanden is het zover: de winnaar van de Harland Awards is bekend! Tot 31 oktober 2021 konden verhalen in de genres fantasy, sciencefiction, horror en magisch realisme ingezonden worden. Uit de 190 inzendingen is, met dank aan het harde werk van de lezersjury, een shortlist van 15 samengesteld, waaruit een winnaar en vier runners-up zijn geselecteerd. 

De Harland Awards 2021-schrijfwedstrijd is gewonnen door:

1. Gerthein Boersma met het verhaal ‘Parterretrap’.

De vier runners-up zijn:
